American food is one thing but Turkish food is another. The people of Turkey usually start off with what they call a “simple” breakfast it consist of cheese, butter, olives, eggs tomatoes, cucumbers, jam, honey and kaymak sujuk witch is spicy Turkish sausage. Here in America all I have is cereal.
In the hot summer the people of Turkey have a traditional fried veggies like eggplant, potatoes and many more. All these fried veggies are normally served with yogurt and homemade tomato sauce.
Turkey has a wide range of yummy cuisine ranging from fruits to newly slaughtered meet. The abundance of fruit is normal for families to have, as it is put as a side dish, either fresh or dried to compliment the main curse. Giving the dish sweetness. Turkish people use meat mainly in using the remains and mixing them with their vegetables. Some popular dishes for this is Kiymali (ground meet and beans) or kıymalı ıspanak which is (ground meet served with yogurt.) A Turkish meal normally states with a bowl of soup. The soup that is served is normally named after their main ingredient. It can include meat, veggies and spices.
The last part of all Turkish dinners is the delicious desserts. One of the mainly known pastries here in America and in Turkey is baklava. Baklava is made either with pistachio or walnut layering made of many layers of phyllo dough drenched in melted butter. Then it is placed in a large pan. A hand made syrup is poured over as the end result. Normally including honey, rosewater, or orange flower water.
Their are some many dishes in Turkish cuisine. Their are dishes that only include meat, or dishes where it is only vegetarian. Dishes that may only consist of meat or vegetation kebabs, fish, eggs. With such a wide range of food Turkey is a huge tourist country not just for the sites, but for the amazing food.
